Stephanie Alice: Flutist

Stephanie Alice – Versatile Flutist & Composer (Osaka, Japan)

Stephanie Alice is a versatile flutist based in Osaka. Classically trained with some of Australia, France, and England’s best performers and teachers, she is a keen composer and improviser in a wide range of styles. Stephanie has performed with Classical, Latin, Irish, Jazz, contemporary-classical, world, pop, and funk groups.

Before moving to Japan, Stephanie toured as solo flutist with Irish dance production Celtic Illusion for three years and wrote and performed original pieces with her instrumental trio Out of Thin Air (flute, guitar, and cello). Stephanie wrote, directed, and co-choreographed an original collaborative piece featuring her trio, contemporary dancers, visual artists, and actors which received funding from Melbourne City Arts Grant and premiered at the Melbourne Fringe Festival before being built upon and performed in local arts festivals in Victoria, Australia.

Stephanie also loves to teach, explore new cultures and styles of music, and looks forward to collaborating with and inspiring other artists to work together to create new interdisciplinary work.
